Townsville Property Market Update: Strong Local Results Continue

The Townsville property market continues to perform strongly, with another week of solid sales highlighting the resilience of our local market.

Over the past seven days, 20 properties sold across Townsville, with more than $13.2 million in property changing hands. The standout sale was a lifestyle property in Nome, which achieved $1.27 million, while homes in North Ward, Black River and Mysterton also sold for more than $1 million.

Houses recorded an average sale price of approximately $767,500, while units averaged $850,000, influenced by the sale of a luxury North Ward apartment.

Townsville Continues to Stand Out

While national headlines continue to focus on slowing conditions in Sydney and Melbourne, Townsville remains in a strong position. Regional Queensland continues to benefit from population growth, limited housing supply and strong buyer demand, keeping our local market resilient.

The Reserve Bank held interest rates steady this week, and although affordability remains a challenge, buyers are continuing to adapt to the current lending environment rather than waiting for further rate changes.

What This Means for Buyers and Sellers

For sellers, the message remains clear: well-presented homes that are priced correctly are continuing to attract strong buyer interest and achieve excellent results.

For buyers, increasing stock levels are providing more choice and creating better opportunities to negotiate than we’ve seen in recent years.

As always, real estate is local. While national trends make the headlines, the most important factors are what’s happening in your suburb and your price range.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling in the next six months, or simply want to know what your property is worth in today’s market, the team at McGrath Townsville is here to help.
